Big Design Ideas For Your New Bathroom
When it comes to designing a bathroom, people instantly think of the big pieces they will need.
Getting a bathroom that matches their style, and the style of their home is vitally important. A chic spa style wet room would look a little out of place if the rest of your home is traditional Victorian.
However, while it’s important to settle on a suite that you are happy with (after all, you’ll want to spend a lot of time relaxing in your new bathroom once it is complete), it’s easy to take your eye off the ball when it comes to those finishing touches – like taps, shower heads, radiators and so on.
And those finishing touches are really what can make or break your brand new sanctuary. Get it right and you will end up with a highly desirable room that you will enjoy (and your friends wished they had!).
But Get It Wrong And You Might End Up With A Bathroom That Just Doesn’t Feel Right And Leaves You Frustrated
Why spend a large chunk of money on your new bathroom suite, and then ruin it with the wrong accessories? Take your time.
It’s better to get every decision spot on than rush into your choices. There are a whole host of tap styles on the market nowadays. Gone are the days of one or two styles. Now you can find everything from traditional, to the super sleek. If you’ve chosen a traditional bath, or roll top bath with claw feet, traditional fittings will complement the look.
Look for traditional bath/shower mixer taps, chrome wall mounted shower units, with wide-headed shower roses. Floor-mounted kits (such as the one pictured) are superb additions for roll-top baths, and create a unique look.
Elsewhere, there are a host of radiator designs to think about too. Many combine a radiator with heated towel rail, and there are a host of different styles to suit every bathroom. A vertical radiator is ideal for a smaller bathroom, or just for a style statement, too.
For something a little more contemporary, the fashion at the moment is for taps which cascade water into sinks and baths like a mini waterfall. Like the one pictured, glass additions are bang on trend, too, and really do create that wow factor.
For that hotel feel, why not consider a covered toilet roll holder, instead of having your roll out on display. And think about your lighting, as well. Who said, for instance, that a chandelier should only feature in hallways, or dining rooms? A touch of glamour in your bathroom can create the height of opulence.
