The day of love is soon upon us – for some that means romantic meals out, hastily bought bunches of flowers or even a boycott with some friends. Though for those of you who do like to make a big thing of Valentines Day, we’ve put some ideas together for how to put a little extra love into your bathroom.

 Flowers

Call it a cliché, but there’s a reason why flowers are the most common way of expressing your feelings. Make no bones about it, flowers are pretty. Best of all, they really help brighten up your space for a relatively small cost. While roses might be customary, you don’t have to go with red. White, pink, peach, blue, yellow; you name it, you can find a rose in most colours. It also means you can swap in different flowers every now and again to revamp your space regularly. You don’t even have to use fresh flowers, either. Some decorative flower print tiles or some nice chintzy fabrics for your bathroom blinds will do the trick, too.

  Chocolate

Now we don’t mean decorating your bathroom with a Willy Wonka-style theme, or making everything edible (as much as you might like the idea). What we actually mean is using chocolate brown as a colour scheme in your bathroom. It’s very warming, really comforting and with low-level lighting, it’s the perfect surrounding while you’re relaxing in the tub. Of course, you’ll find a great range of natural woods that will complement this rich brown tone nicely, too. Whether you’re using it on your worktops, flooring or just picking out detail with picture frames or trinkets around the space, it’s a wonderful way to put an additional bit of personality in your new bathroom.

 A place for your perfumes and potions

For those of you lucky enough to be lavished with a few gifts to pamper yourselves with, you’ll also need a spot to stash them once you’ve finish your beauty routines.
