The Five Big Bathroom Décor Decisions

The Five Big Bathroom Décor Decisions

Are you struggling to make a decision on your new bathroom decor then no need to worry, at My Beautiful Bathroom we are more than happy to advise on various designs and styles.

You can spend as much as you like on a bathroom suite and part with thousands of pounds having marble counters and shelves fitted, for example. But on the whole bathroom suites aren’t particularly expensive to buy and are actually reducing in price all the time.

There are really five main areas you need to consider for your new bathroom in Glasgow.

What To Think About When Designing A Bathroom

  • The actual bathroom suite itself
  • What you’re going to put on the walls
  • What type of accessories you’ll have
  • How you’re going to decorate it
  • What type of lighting you’d like installed

 Bathroom Suite

On the whole, here at My Beautiful Bathroom, we’d advise on going for an antique white, beige or another off-white colour. That’s because coloured suites tend to go out of fashion very quickly. Remember the craze for avocado in the seventies? It can still be found in some homes today! And if you did get fed up with your coloured suite well, it’s easy enough to change a toilet but putting in a new bath, sink and shower would result in rather a large and costly job

 Walls

This is where you can bring in colour and it’s easy to paint over in a few years when you’re craving a change. Water-resistant, oil-based paints and wallpaper are getting better all the time and come in a great selection of colours and designs these days. Why settle for just off-white walls?

 Accessories

Personally, here at My Beautiful Bathroom, we think heated towel rails are fab and a must for when you’ve just stepped out of the shower or bath. They’re also very slim so don’t take up a lot of room – which is important for most bathrooms. Glass shelving looks great and doesn’t take away from the size of a bathroom. Or how about some built-in cabinets? Decorative hooks can really jazz up a bathroom and at the same time take away clutter

 Decoration

Just because your bathroom is the smallest room in the house and the one where you tend to spend the least amount of time, it doesn’t mean you can’t go overboard on the decoration.  We’ve designed contemporary designer bathrooms in Glasgow penthouse flats, vintage bathrooms full of period detail in Ayrshire cottages minimalist bathrooms in Inverclyde and eco-style bathrooms in Central Scotland. All have looked stunning and, more importantly, reflected the householder’s personality

 Lighting

Lighting is important for any room in your home, but especially the bathroom which for many people tends to be a sanctuary where they can relax and wash out the worries of the day. You might want to think about a dimmer switch and wall lights, especially in the shower area. For the mirror, where you’ll be doing a lot of pouting and preening, inbuilt lights or sconces are always a good idea The above are just a few ideas. You, of course, will have your own.
