Choosing The Right Bathroom Taps

  Choosing The Right Bathroom Taps

While it might be a small part of the room to consider, taps are actually one of the things in your bathroom that you’ll interact with most. You want to make sure they’re easy enough to use and that they look the part in your new bathroom; matching your other fixtures and fittings and even adding an extra dimension themselves.

  Mixer Taps

These do what they say on the tin. You get a single spout for the water, which ‘mixes’ both your hot and cold to suit  you needs. If you’re new to this type of tap, getting the temperature right might be something of an art form, but once you get acquainted with it, it’ll become second nature. The streamlined look of them is perfect for more modern spaces, too.

  Hot & Cold Separate Taps

The natural alternative to mixer taps, as you’ve probably guessed, you get your hot and cold water out of individual taps. You’ll have the option to draw both scalding hot and ice cold water at the same time, making it ideal for filling the sink quickly. Just make sure your water pressure is healthy enough. Of course, if it’s not quite as powerful as you’d like it, let us know. We work with some of the very best plumbers in the trade, and they might have an ideal solution for you.

  Curved & Sleek

From a purely style-oriented perspective, rounded taps are particularly good when accompanying floral patterns or bright colours, like ocean blues and summer yellows. They can help to soften your space and make it a more comfortable place to be – just what you need when relaxing in the tub after a long day at work.

  Squared & Minimal

These ultra-modern beauties, on the other hand, are fantastic for creating a clean, crisp look to your bathroom. They also give a more robust feel, provide strong lines to work with in your space. We don’t recommend them if you’re after something simple, though. A few of the more contemporary models aren’t the easiest to figure out. While you’ll eventually get the hang of any tap, it’s important to feel right at home in your new bathroom from the start.

  Good, Old-Fashioned Westminister

Hardly needing an introduction, everyone is familiar with this kind of tap. From the classic faucet knobs to the curved spouts, right up to the additional shower heads, there’s something almost regal about the trusty Westminister model. It’s good to know that you can have a brand-new tap without it clashing horribly with your traditional-looking bathroom. You may even find that you pick out a tap before deciding on some of the other aspects of your bathroom, not a problem. We’ve got the know-how to help you design the rest of your bathroom so that it blends together beautifully.
