Bathrooms That Are Small In Size But Big On Style

Bathrooms That Are Small In Size But Big On Style

It might be smallest room in your home, but that doesn’t mean it needs to be small on style.

Even large properties, with more than one bathroom, may have a bathroom or an ensuite that doesn’t see the same level of usage as the main bathroom – simply because users find it cramped and awkward to use.

However, there’s plenty you can do to add class and functionality to even the tiniest bathroom. Here are a few ideas. You’ll find plenty more inspiration at My Beautiful Bathroom.

 One Size Fits All

En-suite bathrooms are the ultimate in convenience.

If you’re lucky enough to have one attached to your bedroom, the key is to keep it as simple and functional as possible.

If there’s only enough room for a toilet, consider turning your en-suite into a watertight wet room as you won’t need a cubicle or shower panels. This will allow you to shower in the tiniest space, even if it means sitting on the toilet while you do so. Hey presto! You’ve just transformed a couple of square feet into a fully functional bathroom!   Remember too that a small second bathroom or en-suite doesn’t have to have a bath if you’ve one elsewhere in the house. Instead, put the money you’ve saved towards a more luxurious shower option in the smaller of the two rooms to give it more appeal. Power showers come with a whole range of useful features these days.

Or you could add extra functionality to the unit, for example, by fitting the shower panels with body jets.

 Double Check Your Bathroom Measurements

Be extra careful is when it comes to cupboards, fitting and accessories. In a tight space, there’s no room for error. Measure everything meticulously to make sure cupboard doors don’t get in the way of the main door or other fittings.

Toilets, basins, baths and shower doors come in a huge range of formats these days, so make sure these all operate smoothly without obstructing access or each other fittings. Slimline toilets are very fashionable at the moment and will give a small bathroom the feeling of more space.

A Good Time To Go Green

Heating costs and water charges are only going one way – up! So, if you’re upgrading a small bathroom, it’s an excellent time to examine how efficiently your bathroom runs, while also reducing your carbon footprint.

Opting for a shower instead of a bath will save on water and energy costs. But be aware that not all showers are the same. Go for the most efficient you can afford as it will save you money in the long run. It’s a good time to consider installing a dual flush toilet to save water too. Again, it may cost you a little extra initially, but could save you money in the longer term and make your property more attractive if you’re thinking about selling in the future.
